Profile
The National Press was founded in 1925 as the first printing house in Jordan. Today, it is amongst the largest printing establishments in the Middle East, housing the latest state-of-art prepress, conventional & digital printing, and postpress equipment.
Since day one, the company's management system policy has been to sustain a competitive edge in the world of printing; a policy that has kept its growth on a continuous par with the development of the printing industry as a whole.
With constant development and sturdy expansion plans, the National Press occupies an 11,000 square meter purpose-built compound that houses some of the best machinery and solutions available.
The company employs a workforce of 200 employees from several generations of skilled craftsmen, and whose know-how and expertise have been in constant growth.
In managing its work, the National Press applies solid project management standards across the different operational cycles and in doing so aims to ensure attentive response to its customer needs and provision of high quality printing and prompt delivery at competitive prices.

Environmental Policy
The National Press is fully committed to work towards protecting the environment and adhering to environmental regulations relating to the printing industry. The National Press will work with the community and regulatory agencies to implement sound management practices.
At the moment, the National Press implements the following procedures to help the environment:
• Purchasing consumables that are benign to the environment
• Adopting measures to reduce energy consumption
• Collecting and recycling of paper and plates
• Using vegetable oil based inks
• Using an after burner to cut down on gas emissions
• Applying soft digital proofing
• Purchasing almost all our paper from SAPPI which is 60% sugar cane, chlorine free & is parallel to sustainable afforestation
• Improving the quality of water to suit the printing process which leads to creating less waste and using less chemicals
• Rewarding employees for any reductions in waste

Proofing Systems
In order to meet our entire customer’s proofing needs, we at National have made available the most comprehensive solutions known in today’s market. Whether your requirements include online digital soft proofs, contact proofs, high quality ink jet proofs, blue prints, laser proofs or even offset printed wet proofs. You may rest assured to find all those services coupled by any technical advice or assistance from one of our fully trained prepress personnel.
CTF
Even though Computer To Film is a dying technology. Our statistics show that some customers still prefer running their jobs on imagesetters, as the longer shell life of film allows them to be stored for a considerable time awaiting future reprints. This service is still available to any client considering this option.
CTP
Computer to Plate option has been available at National for some time now. We are currently installing our third and forth platesetters. The new upgrades will help meet the high demand in non-conventional plates. The two new Kodak Trendsetter 800III Quantum CTPs with online Glunz & Jensen Processors. Our versatile 8-page CTP platesetters offer printing operations of any size with: Outstanding image quality, Maximum efficiency, Advanced automation, 10, 20, 25-micron Kodak Staccato Screening to create photorealistic printing and Up to 42 plates per hour.

Digital Printing
The print market is experiencing rapid change. Our customers realize they can improve their communications through shorter runs of customized, high impact color documents. At the same time, they are demanding superior image quality on a wide
range of substrates, all delivered in record times with lower print spends.
Kodak NexPress Digital Production Color Presses feature imaging technologies designed to produce market-edge image quality—job-to-job and day-to-day. Robust options available on the press support complex workflows such as variable data printing, transaction printing, web-to-print and photo services.
Sheetfed Offset Printing
National Press prides itself on it’s impressive fleet of sheetfed printing machines. The all new presses cover a wide range of about 50 printing units of sizes ranging from: 36X52cm. 50X75cm. 72X102cm. In configurations of 2, 4, 5, 6, 8colors and coating units.

Web Offset Printing
The Newly installed Goss M-600 web press has earned a worldwide reputation for proven print quality and reliability. Designed for a wide range of commercial or publication applications. The extensive make-ready and waste reduction features make the M-600 press especially adept in short-run applications. With a cutoff size 598cm, the M-600 is ideal for printing magazines and text books up to 28.5X23cm. National Press is the only print shop in Jordan to own a high quality commercial web.

Soft Cover Binding
Flexibility and quality are the key advantages at our soft cover binding division. With 3 Muller Martini perfect binding lines, National Press can handle any job no mater how long the run. Even small and medium runs can be produced competitively due to the high degree of automation on our machines.
The production of perfect bound books, magazines and catalogs are running round the clock 24/7 with the greatest attention to quality control.
Saddle Stitch Binding
National Press has two Muller Martini saddle stitching lines. The two lines can cope with any job run starting from a couple hundred to hundreds of thousands and even more.
Muller Martini being the Rolls Royce in binding machinery ensures that high end production with short turnaround time and low waist is our competitive edge amongst our competitors.
Hardcover Binding
A full and comprehensive setup that comprises of an all Kolbus hard cover line. The setup is state of the art machinery, fully automated and integrated systems that perform all options needed for making top quality hard cover books to any known specification.
The setup includes: case making, board and cloth cutting, embossing and gilding, book block preparation, book mark inserting, case forming and casing in machines with other various bookbinding functions.

In order to maintain its high standards and to satisfy customer needs, the National Press utilises the best materials available on the world markets. To ensure that, famous supplier brands are always in stock. Films are imported from AGFA, offset plates from Ozasol and Polycrome, thermal plates from Kodak, inks from Akzo Nobel and Hostmann-Steinberg. High quality finishing material includes glues from Henkel, Croda and National.
Papers and boards are imported from Sappi, Austria and Zanders, Germany. Specialised paper originates from Argo Wiggens in the UK. Woodfree paper sources range from Scandinavian mills to Brazilian and Japanese.
The National Press’s warehouse has a generous storage space of 4500 square meters. The company imports and stocks its own papers and printing materials, enabling the execution of any project on the shortest of notice.

London Book Fair 2009
The National Press has just signed its successive tenth contract with Reeds Exhibition to exhibit at the London Book Fair 2009.
The London Book Fair is the global publishing community’s leading spring forum for booksellers, publishers, librarians and book production services worldwide. Ideally timed to provide a three-day trading and educational platform offering access to the world’s books, real business contacts and shared knowledge.

Royal Wings Magazine
The National Press has just signed a contract with Spafax Airline Network for the printing Royal Jordanian’s complimentary in-flight magazine Royal Wings.
The magazine offers passengers an interesting mix of topical international features. It also includes articles on Jordan’s fascinating sites and culture, people profiles, and a comprehensive guide to the airline’s routes and facilities.
